Environmental Policy Statement

The operations at Calder Industrial Materials Ltd. include: -

  • The cold rolling and slitting of lead to produce lead sheet and flashing to BS EN 12588:1999 specification, for sale to the building industry.
  • The sale of a range of purchased products, specific to the metal roofing trade, chosen to complement the lead sheet and flashing materials.
  • The design, manufacture and installation of Lead and Lead Alloy products to customers requirements and applicable regulatory requirements using methods including melting, casting, rolling, extruding, forging and machining techniques.

The company operates an environmental management system that is based on the requirements of ISO 14001:2004.

This management system will address all the following aspects to ensure we can achieve a continuous improvement in the environmental field: -

  • Control of information to ensure it is correct and up to date.
  • Regularly review relevant legislation and other requirements to ensure we comply.
  • Conduct regular briefing sessions to inform the employees of our environmental objectives.
  • Promote environmental awareness and seek suggestions for improvement.
  • Operate in a responsible manner to prevent pollution.
  • Encourage our customers and suppliers to demonstrate environmental concern.
  • Consider the concerns and suggestions of all stakeholders, including neighbours and the general public.
  • Investigate and improve where possible the use of energy.
  • We will endeavor to integrate energy management into the everyday business activities of Calder Industrial Materials.
  • Develop an energy use profile to allow an appreciation of energy issues and therefore target specific areas.
  • Conduct Environmental Monitoring in accordance with our IPPC permit.

We will conduct regular reviews of our performance against the above to become proactive in our approach to future improvements.

All personnel employed by the company will be suitably trained in the skills necessary to satisfy this policy.

This policy and the resultant Environmental Management System has been agreed by the Chief Executive and will be followed by all personnel.
