Commercial & Public Buildings

The architects at Maidenhead decided that cladding the stonework in lead sheet would be the best way of providing long-term, maintenance-free protection to the stone tablets that are engraved with thousands of names of missing soldiers.
This contract for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission required a very high standard of leadwork skills.  The problems caused by the variations in the stonework made pre-fabrication difficult and the maintaining of parallel lines in the 50mm code 5 drip edges to be the most demanding.
The standard of this project is an example of excellent leadwork skills that will be admired for the rest of this century and beyond.

The Calder lead sheet produced to BSEN12588 required for this project was supplied via 1st Supplies, Orpington, Kent.
The winner of the commercial & public buildings category is Marshott Non-Ferrous Roofing Ltd.  Marshott are a member of the Lead Contractors Association and carries an Excellent vetting grade category.
