Hot Cells for
PET:
Hot Cells provide a shielded environment for the
storage and handling of radioactive isotopes such as fluorine-18 or
carbon-11 used in Positron Emission Tomography. They protect
the operator from the hazards of radiation exposure and can be
designed to meet user requirements and needs in production or
research facilities.

pots are available from 3mm wall thickness to large pots for
transportation within hospital environments. Larger pots are
made to customer specific requirements and can incorporate
lifting handles or trolleys.

"L" Shields:

"L" shaped shield to provide protection while the patient dose
is dispensed from stock. Lead protection to both vertical and
horizontal surfaces, with an angled lead glass viewing window.
These have been installed throughout the nuclear research,
medical, industrial and scientific
communities.

Krypton 81m
Generator
This mobile unit provides the extra
shielding which is needed around Krypton-81m generators to minimise
gamma camera background during ventilation imaging. It will also
keep radiation exposure to staff to a minimum. The extra 50mm of
lead will reduce the dose rate from the generator by a factor of
about 40.
